House Update
We finally broke ground yesterday - almost a whole month after our permit was approved. In contrast, the house that is being built next door broke ground this past Monday (8/3) with a permit approval date of 7/28.
I don’t think we will ever know why it took so long to dig our house but it was probably pretty convenient for the builder to dig the neighbor’s house first (because it’s between our and another house and ours had open space on the other side) and build the two together. Anyway, it’s on it’s way.
The foundation was poured today - just stones with concrete on top and some re-bar sticking up. We went and measured between all the walls today to ensure that we were getting the correct dimensions. Everything looked good. Jeff posted some pictures. It’s pretty cool to know that it’s finally happening and we will be living in a house in 3 months!
The neighbors are getting basement walls tomorrow so that probably means Monday for us! Then it’s framing! This is going to go so fast!
